Policies and conditions

Results Policy: If you get a secure SMS saying your recent test results are normal and no more action is needed, that’s great! But, if you still have symptoms, concerns, or if the doctor said more checks are needed, or you get an SMS asking to talk about the results, please book another appointment with the doctor. Sorry, but the Reception can’t share results over the phone unless you’ve set it up with the doctor beforehand.

Missed Appointments Policy: Feel free to call and cancel your appointment anytime before the scheduled time. But if you miss your appointment without letting us know in advance, there will be a fee (currently $40.00, but this may change).

Privacy Policy: We highly value your privacy. All health practitioners and staff are committed to keeping your health information secure. We make sure that this information is accessible only to authorised individuals.

Communications Policy: You can schedule appointments online using our website. It’s best to talk about your private medical concerns directly with your doctor during an appointment, as our receptionists cannot share confidential information over the phone.

However, if you prefer, our friendly receptionists are happy to take your call and help with your questions. We aim to address your inquiry promptly (within 1 business day). If it involves the doctor, it might take longer depending on their schedule.

We assess the nature of the communication, and urgent matters receive prompt attention.

Zero Tolerance Policy: At Crown Family Medical Centre, our staff and healthcare practitioners have a strict zero-tolerance policy for any kind of aggressive, threatening, or intimidating behavior, whether verbal, physical, or otherwise, towards any staff member or fellow patients.

Any individual displaying such behavior will be:

  • Asked to leave the premises immediately if in person.
  • Subject to an immediate end to the phone call if the behavior occurs over the phone.

As a consequence, practitioners may cease providing further healthcare to individuals engaged in such behavior. In this case, medical records will be transferred to another healthcare practitioner chosen by the patient to ensure ongoing continuity of care.
